On Sunday, 28 February 2021, Israeli Defense Minister Benny Gantz added Samidoun, the international support network for Palestinian prisoners, to the Israeli list of terrorist organizations.
This designation is a continuation of the Zionist state’s policy of criminalization and suppression of the Palestinian resistance and those organizations that support it. Through its active role in supporting Palestinian prisoners and Georges Abdallah, in affirming the historical principles and positions of the Palestinian left and in its place in the rebuilding of Palestinian organizing through the Masar Badil conference, Samidoun has become a key organization and, therefore, a target for such attacks.
Today the Palestinian people and their resistance face an unprecedented offensive from imperialism, Zionism and reactionary Arab regimes that want to liquidate their struggle and their organizations. More than ever, the International Red Help stands alongside the revolutionary Palestinian left and reaffirms its full solidarity with the international Samidoun network.
