Brussels, 28th October: Palestine, internationalism and anti-imperialism

As part of the Week for the Liberation of Palestine, and on the eve of the Great March for Return and Liberation in Brussels,

Palestine, internationalism and anti-imperialism
A conference-debate organised by Secours Rouge International
Brussels 28 October, 19H00

At the beginning of the 1970s and for a few years, the struggle for the liberation of Palestine was to become a point of particular interest for revolutionaries around the world. Taking over from the Vietnamese resistance as the focal point of internationalism, the Palestinian revolution would play a crucial role in determining the international revolutionary struggle. Revolutionaries will come from all over the world, from Morocco, Japan, Iran, Switzerland, dozens and dozens of countries, to fight alongside the Palestinians. The Palestinian organizations, starting with the PFLP, will serve as a model for many other forces, and revolutionaries from all over the Middle East will come to learn from them.
The first topic of this evening will be to expose the richness and intensity of this experience.
But beyond that, it is also about understanding it
What are the characteristics of the Palestinian struggle that have produced such a focus?
The relationship of Palestinian organizations to anti-imperialism and internationalism has been innovative. It is only by analyzing this relationship that we can understand this focus on Palestine, at a time of many important struggles: against Appartheid, against the last vestiges (but how criminal) of colonialism in Africa, against the fascism of Franco and Pinochet.
To understand this exceptional moment of anti-imperialist internationalism, but also the reasons for its decline, is also to give ourselves the means to think about our commitment today.

To understand this exceptional moment of anti-imperialist internationalism, but also the reasons for its decline, is also to give ourselves the means to think about our commitment today, with Ron Augustin, former member of the Red Army Faction and “comrade Ahmad”, former member of the People’s Mujahedin (ML) of Iran and other speakers to be confirmed in person and by video testimonies.
